On November 30, 2016, the US National Academies of Sciences, Engineering and Medicine (Health & Medicine Division) released a major report on food allergies:

Finding a Path to Safety in Food Allergy: Assessment of the Global Burden, Causes, Prevention, Management, and Public Policy

The report evaluates the scientific evidence on the prevalence, origins, diagnosis, prevention and management of food allergy. Its recommendations are relevant to policymakers, industry leaders and others committed to ensuring the safest possible environment for those directly and indirectly affected by food allergy.
