World Asthma Day—May 6, 2014: “You Can Control Your Asthma”

May 6 is World Asthma Day and an important time to help increase awareness of the significant health and economic burden related to poor asthma control. This year’s theme, “You Can Control Your Asthma,” addresses the fact that despite the availability of effective treatments, among many people with asthma the disease is poorly controlled, increasing the number of physician and hospital visits, missed days of school and work, and health-care costs.

Working with asthma experts in Canada and abroad, AllerGen invests in research to find ways to prevent, better control and—perhaps one day—cure asthma. Read about AllerGen research in our Success Stories publication.

World Asthma Day is an annual event organized by the Global Initiative for Asthma (GINA) to improve asthma awareness and care around the world. Join AllerGen in celebrating World Asthma Day 2014 by promoting awareness and management of this chronic disease.
